I arrived to San Antonio de las Alazanas as a 6-month-old baby. Egla was born and raised in the immediate area. Our kids, Annette, Cesia and Stephen have traveled the USA and Mexico with us, but always returning home to our high Sierra mountains, to both sets of grandparents and a cacophony of cousins.
Leaving would not be easy.
In early 2018, we loaded our 4-cylinder Nissan pick-up truck and started driving south. 1,000 miles later, we arrived to Comitan, Chiapas. This city of 1 million is a full kilometer lower than our hometown. We rented a house 15 minutes from town and attend
Bethesda Bible Baptist Church in the city.

Services are as follows:

  • Sunday (Sunday School, Preaching)
  • Monday (Ladies Bible study)
  • Tuesday (Prayer meeting)
  • Wednesday (Preaching service)
  • Friday (Home Bible study)
  • Brother Ruben, master Marimba player and patient teacher.
  • Saturday (Youth Bible study)

Apart from these services, I am training Music Leaders (before Sunday School) and Sunday School teachers (before Wednesday preaching service), preaching in several missions and Bethesda, teaching in a home Bible study (Fridays) and writing Home Bible Study Curriculum. Egla is teaching Sunday School, keeping house and acting as my dietician. Add homeschool for 3 to the mix (1 with dyslexia) and you can see how we keep busy!

Our Grocery Store

We plan to stay thru May. Then, return to San Antonio de las Alazanas for 3 months. Please help us pray as we seek the Lord’s Will. If He wants us in San Antonio, He can heal me. If not, He can lead us. Perhaps even here to Comitan!
